Day 91/365: Seneca on knowing when to stop

Welcome to The Stoic Ledger, a daily money meditation from one of the Stoic sages.

91/365: Seneca on knowing when to stop

“How disgraceful is the lawyer whose dying breath passes while at court, at an advanced age, pleading for unknown litigants and still seeking the approval of ignorant spectators.” – Seneca

Your work is not everything.

Don’t be like the lawyer with all your life sucked into your profession, dying on the job.

Know when to set the hat down, and fully savor the legacy and life you built. Often a great career becomes blemished by poor faculties at the end.

Be ready to walk away before it’s too late.
