Day 102/365: Marcus Aurelius on making your own luck

Welcome to The Stoic Ledger, a daily money meditation from one of the Stoic sages.
102/365: Marcus Aurelius on making your own luck
“You say, good fortune used to meet you at every corner. But the fortunate person is the one who gives themselves a good fortune. And good fortunes are a well-tuned soul, good impulses, and good actions. – Marcus Aurelius
We think of fortune as something that occurs to us. But Stoics like to focus on the controllables. And a fortunate event meeting us is out of our control.
Instead, seek out good fortune, make your own luck.
Good action increases the probability of good fortune. So the better our work, the harder we work, the more good fortune we could expect.
How can you stack the chips in your favor today?
