104/365: Marcus Aurelius on today not tomorrow

Today not tomorrow. Now not then. For if not now, then when my friend? Tomorrow doesn’t exist.

Are you deferring the better parts of yourself to tomorrow? It’s a choice, it’s our choice.

We can make the disciplined decisions now, or lie to ourselves about the future. The lie settles the dissonance in the present moment, but robs us of living a good life.

We must see that choosing tomorrow is no different than choosing to not have or to not be what we want.
