Day 97/365: Seneca on the path

Welcome to The Stoic Ledger, a daily money meditation from one of the Stoic sages.
97/365: Seneca on the path
“Won’t you be walking in your predecessors’ footsteps? I surely will use the older path, but if I find a shorter and smoother way, I’ll blaze a trail there. The ones who pioneered these paths aren’t our masters, but our guides. Truth stands open to everyone, it hasn’t been monopolized.” – Seneca
It’s efficient to take a path that’s well trodden. The obstacles have been cleared, we know it gets to the direction we’re heading.
When we step on these previously paved paths, we turn our minds off. This is the way, so we must stick to it.
Yet sometimes there’s a smarter path out there, and if we only follow what already exists, we’ll never see what could exist.
Maybe you’re already following a proven money path, but what if there’s a better one?
