Day 46/365: Seneca on the past, present, and future

Welcome to The Stoic Ledger, a daily money meditation from one of the Stoic sages.
46/365: Seneca on the past, present, and future
“Life is very short and anxious for those who forget the past, neglect the prestn, and fear the future.” – Seneca
The proper place to keep our attention is in the present. But this doesn’t mean we shut out the lessons of the past. They are too valuable for that.
In fact, if we don’t mine that past data, we’re doomed to stumble over obstacles previously identified.
And for the future. We are to plan and work towards a plan, yet not be anxious of what’s to come.
Plans are always future oriented, but the right way to implement them is to use historical lessons to inform the right action, right now.
