Day 52/365: Seneca on balancing the books

Welcome to The Stoic Ledger, a daily money meditation from one of the Stoic sages.
52/365: Seneca on balancing the books
“Let us prepare our minds as if we’d come to the very end of life. Let us postpone nothing. Let us balance life’s books each day. . . .The one who puts the finishing touches on their life each day is never short of time.” – Seneca
Postponing creates a string of debts for tomorrow.
Not only in dollars, but in time. The books aren’t balanced in life when we hang a few time credits on the liability side. Deferring, postponing, waiting.
What is it you’re after? What debts remain outstanding?
Settle up today and make it right. If today was your last day, and you knew this with certainty, would you postpone anything important to tomorrow?
