Day 13/365: Heraclitus on change

Welcome to The Stoic Ledger, a daily money meditation from one of the stoic sages.
13/365: Heraclitus on change
“No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.” – Heraclitus
Heraclitus provides a potent reminder for us to realize that impermanence and change are the only constants. It’s up to us what we do with this knowledge.
Financial markets are like the river. Downturns, inflation, industry changes, economic trends, fads, budgets all constantly shift the “river.”
When we take a step in that new financial river—we, too, are different.
Our priorities, goals, perceptions, and life circumstances all change, all the time.
A lesson we might draw from this ancient stoic wisdom is to keep showing up, keep trying, keep learning, keep evolving.
The river’s new and so are you.
What can you retry today?
