Day 77/365: Seneca on silence

Welcome to The Stoic Ledger, a daily money meditation from one of the Stoic sages.

77/365: Seneca on silence

“Silence is a lesson learned through life’s many sufferings.” – Seneca

We learn by experience, and sometimes the experience is painful, sometimes there’s suffering.

We talk too much about investment ideas that are going well, just to look foolish when they turn. We talk about how much we have just to appear foolish when it all goes away.

Our tongues are quick to get us in trouble when we try to speak a certain stature.

Let’s learn from Seneca to tame the tongue and employ silence effectively.
