Day 81/365: Seneca on overindulgence

Welcome to The Stoic Ledger, a daily money meditation from one of the Stoic sages.

81/365: Seneca on overindulgence

“Enjoy present pleasures in such a way as not to injure future ones.” – Seneca

Stoicism doesn’t command a cold life void of pleasure and happiness.

Remember today that it’s natural and good to enjoy what pleasures we presently have, as long as we avoid overindulgence at the expense of our future.

This requires discipline, prudence, and wisdom to appropriately utilize that which we have.
