Day 84/365: Seneca on forging strength

Welcome to The Stoic Ledger, a daily money meditation from one of the Stoic sages.

84/365: Seneca on forging strength

Difficulties strengthen the mind, as labor does the body.” – Seneca

What financial difficulties are on your plate?

These struggles are the fires that forge our mental strength and durability for later fights.

Learning to be lean now for flexibility later.

Learning to handle misfortune now for the unknown later.

All difficulty brings about pain. It’s not that Seneca wants us to suck it up and find ways to enjoy the trial, rather understand that it’s the nature of the challenge that shapes the armor we wear for battles to come.
