Day 122/365: Marcus Aurelius on kindness

Welcome to The Stoic Ledger, a daily money meditation from one of the Stoic sages.

122/365: Marcus Aurelius on kindness

“Kindness is invincible, but only when it’s sincere, with no hypocrisy or faking. For what can even the most malicious person do if you keep showing kindness and, if given the chance, you gently point out where they went wrong—right as they are trying to harm you.” – Marcus Aurelius

If the entire day goes awry today, there’s one element you can ensure flows like a calm river: your kindness.

Is there any situation in which you can’t be kind? What would happen if we all operated from a kindness first stance?

Let’s each do our part today and see how it feels. I’d wager better than spending a little money on a nicer trinket.
